When it comes to caring for your engineered quartz counters, you don’t need specialty cleaners. You can use them, but they’re just an extra cost to you. Engineered quartz can be cleaned with just 1-3 drops of dish soap, a few cups of warm water and a good rinse. To remove water stains, mix baking soda and water. Pour a small amount of this homemade cleaner on the stain, then run it in with a sponge in a circular motion.

Multiple Options With Engineered Quartz

Engineered quartz has three options for its finish:

• Honed (matte finish)
• Leathered/brushed (rough textured finish)
• Polished (shiny finish)

There are some downsides to choosing engineered quartz. Due to the process of creating the engineered quartz, it is not ideal for any outdoor projects, such as an outdoor kitchen. If you place any hot pots or pans directly onto an engineered quartz countertop, it will be permanently scorched and discolored.
